Our Mission Statement
The Protestant Cooperative Ministry encourages the members of the Cornell community to seek God's transforming power and struggle with the dynamic tensions of a life of Christian faith.
It strives to follow the will of God by:
- Fostering spiritual search and growth in a relationship with a loving, living, life-giving God.
- Providing opportunities for friendship, fellowship and fun.
- Building an inclusive and compassionate community, breaking down the walls that divide us.
- Opening avenues of witness and service as a part of the world-wide community of the faithful.
Worship Services and Choir
PCM worship is held at 11:00 AM on Sundays during the academic year, in the Founders Room across from the Chapel in Anabel Taylor Hall (during Chapel construction). The PCM choir rehearses at 10:00 AM in the Founders' Room with Eric Howd, our music director.
"Coffeeless Coffee Hour" follows worship each week, and sometimes includes special events and speakers.

“God and Our Bodies”
Cirque du Soleil –Join us on Saturday afternoon, September 12 at a performance of the world-renowned acrobatic/dance company in Syracuse, NY.
Tickets are $20, and limited. See Taryn, or stop in the PCM office to reserve your ticket. (Check or cash) Transportation provided. We’ll be leaving Ithaca at 2 PM, returning by
8 PM.
“Your Body is a Temple” Sermon on Sunday, September 13
“Spiritual Wholeness.” Date Change - October 18 - An extended Coffeeless Coffee Hour* (12:15-1 PM) conversation with Greg Eels, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Cornell.(CAPS). Dr. Eels is an engaging speaker, President of the Association of University College Counseling Center Directors, and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
“Running with Spirit!” Join PCM's fall running group. Run for fun, or work up to a 6K race on Sunday, October 25. ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS ARE WELCOME; NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! If you're interested, please see Ben Wang or email him at benjamin.wang@cornell.edu
PCM Fall Mission Retreat in NYC September 25-27 in New York City! The Presbyterian and United Methodist offices at the United Nations will offer a Saturday morning program allowing us to meet government and NGO leaders who work on global environmental issues. Saturday afternoon we’ll volunteer at a community garden in Brooklyn, that helps feed needy families in the neighborhood. On Sunday morning we’ll attend services at the dynamic Bronx Christian Church, and return to campus by 4 PM.
And yes, there will be time for some sight-seeing and fun in Central Park! $30/includes transportation, meals, lodging. We will leave Ithaca at 5:30 PM on Friday, September 25.
Ithaca CROP Walk, Sunday, October 4 at 1:30 PM in downtown Ithaca. PCM’ers join hundreds of Ithacans who walk (or run!) to raise money to support hunger relief programs in the community and all around the world. CROP supports Church World Service, Habitat for Humanity, Heifer Project International, and plenty of other organizations. Pick up a sponsor envelope after church or in the PCM office.
The Crop Walk offers a wonderful way to see the town! The route circles downtown Ithaca, including a stop at historic St. James AME Zion Church, a stop on the Underground Railroad. You can walk the full 5 miles or the shorter “But I gotta-study!”-friendly 1 mile route! PCM typically raises $500-$1000 for CROP, so plan to help us top that!
“Choreograph Your Soul” – An Expression/Movement Workshop led by Katie Jones. This 4-session workshop is an amazing way to relieve stress, connect with other people and express yourself through movement and art. 5 PM - 5:45 PM Wednesday, October 14, 21, 28 and November 4 in the One World Room, Anabel Taylor Hall.
Just for fun -
- Pumpkin Carving– Sunday, October 24 after worship during Coffeeless Coffee Hour.
- Visit a Corn Maze! And find your way through miles of trails in the moonlight.
Friday, October 30. Leave campus at 7 PM, return by 10 PM. Free, but bring extra money to buy a pumpkin, snacks, or cocoa. Flashlight optional, raingear if needed! Can you drive? Please contact Taryn
“Hands of Praise” The Ithaca College Sign-Language Choir will join us for worship on Sunday, November 1. (The Sunday of Parents’ Weekend)
The Spirituality of the Psalms Friday, November 5 at 5 PM in the Redlin Room, G22 Anabel Taylor Hall.
Walter Brueggeman, a world renowned Old Testament scholar, will talk about the Psalms, and answer your questions about reading and understanding the Old Testament.

Board members put on a huge meal, right after worship! Bring friends, there is always plenty of home-cooked food!
Caroling and Christmas Party Friday, December 4, 5:30 PM
Bring friends and instruments, for this annual visit to a local nursing home andparty to follow.
