Iftikhar Dadi is Assistant Professor in the Department of History of Art, where he teaches modern and contemporary art, and history of photography. He is especially interested in the globalization of art and visual culture in the twentieth century. He has co-curated the exhibition, Unpacking Europe in Rotterdam, and co-edited the volume of critical texts, Unpacking Europe: Towards a Critical Reading (2001). He has also edited a special issue of Prince Claus Foundation Journal, "The Future is Handmade" (2003), which is devoted to future prospects of crafts around the world.
Iftikhar is also an artist who collaborates with his wife, Elizabeth. Together, they have shown their work in numerous international venues. These include the Sao Paulo Biennial, Brazil; the Asia-Pacific Triennial in Australia; the Liverpool Biennial, UK; the Walker Art Center, Minnesota; and the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. Their work "Clash of Civilizations" was recently exhibited on the facade of the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell.
